Why train and raise awareness?
In France and Italy, in 2024, hundreds of thousands of workplace accidents were recorded over 500,000 in Italy alone according to INAIL with similar alarming figures across France.
Despite a slight decrease compared to 2023, these numbers remain unacceptable. Yet companies that invest in continuous training and awareness can significantly reduce the number of incidents. Beyond being a legal obligation, these actions strengthen a culture of safety and protect workers.
How to make training effective?
- Targeted content : Adapt training to the specific risks of each sector (e.g. construction, chemicals, healthcare).
- Varied methods : Combine theory, hands-on exercises and digital tools (e-learning, quizzes).
- Regularity : Update content and organise periodic refreshers.
Awareness: an indispensable complement
Awareness goes beyond training and includes :
- Internal communication(notices, newsletters, meetings).
- Manager involvementthey must lead by example.
- Analysis of incidents even minor ones, to improve procedures.
- Useful tools and resources Practical guides: INAIL, CARSAT, ANACT.
- Checklist :
- Does training cover all identified risks?
- Are workers assessed after training?
Conclusion
Training and raising awareness is not a costit is a strategic investment in safety and productivity.. And in your company, what actions are you putting in place?
